INGREDIENTS
175g (6oz) wholemeal flour,
75g(3oz) margarine,
30ml (2tbsp)cold water,
225g(8oz) Lyle's Golden Syrup,
50g(2oz) brown breadcrumbs,
10ml(2tsp)lemon juice.
Rub the margarine into the flour, and bind together with water. Roll out and line an 18cm(7inch) flan ring or sponge tin with pastry. Warm the syrup and lemon juice. Stir in the breadcrumbs. Pour this into the flan case and decorate, if wished, with pastry trimmings. Bake at 220c (425F) for 20 minutes.
